Life in London Begins

Well what a month April was.

Got my job secured. It took me a few months in the end, but I landed a job pretty similar to my one back in Melbourne.

It is only 10 minutes on the train from Battersea which is really nice.

Me and Miss Aussie Strategy have slowly gotten back into the routine of full time work, but the first few months of a new job are always pretty hectic.

I also forgot all about workplace politics and the drama lol. But the work is pretty interesting.

Pay wise I am about 10-15% lower compared to Australia.

I enjoyed a good amount of time off in the end from late December until late April. Which was really lovely, slightly more time off then I expected but I really enjoyed it.

People work really hard in London though, sometimes clocking off really late into the evening. I did not realise how high the salaries were in Australia though.

I have been trying to stick to 8am-5pm but some days are even longer.

It’s kinda brutal here with pretty low wages compared to really high house prices, and a lot of people struggling to get by.

But London is definitely the place to be in your late twenties in a share-house. There is so much to do!

We went up to Wales in April for a few nights and climbed Mount Snowden. We got really lucky with the weather and it is such an incredibly rustic and beautiful place. Pictures below:

We also go to the park on most weekends, and the park culture in London is so awesome. People are playing cricket, families having picnics, pubs in the park and a lot of people sun baking.

Another thing we have really been enjoying is watching Last of Us on Monday night, it’s such a great show and really fun to watch with people in the share house.

Our current plan is to work in London for a little over a year and do some travelling before we head home.

That’s about it for this month!
