-Did a week in Paris with some friends
-Did some House Sitting in Richmond
-Did some job interviews
-Gone to a few football games
February was another good month. We had some friends come over from Aus and we did a trip to Paris with them.
We caught the Eurostar and I was pretty amazed by the whole experience. I am usually used to the chaos of travelling on the plane, where you feel like you are in a small tube in the sky.
But the Eurostar was great. No hassle, no delays and a really smooth journey.
We saw the prices at the start and thought it was a bit expensive.
But I found a website called Eurosnap #frugal. It allows you to get cheap tickets but you only find out the time of your train 48 hours before.
We were a little worried we would get one really early in the morning or late at night. But we ended up with a 3pm departure which was elite.
It was awesome to wander around Paris and see all the beautiful buildings. The coffee shop culture is really cool as well, reminded me of Aus.
There is also a French stereotype of people being pretty rude, but everyone was really lovely to us.
We went to the Louvre as well, which I was a little hesitant on as art galleries are not usually my thing.
But it was really cool, and just to see the sheer size of the museum was awesome.
Once we got back we had a house sitting gig in Richmond (the home of Ted Lasso!)
It was an awesome house and the dog was lovely. We also explored Richmond Park, which is the biggest park in London. It was awesome and a great escape in the middle of bustling London!
During that week I also had three job interviews. I am interested to see how they went… I will find out in the next few days.
Interestingly I don’t thing I will be able to hit my Australian salary. I was on about 90k back home and roles so far have been between 70-85k (in Aus dollars).
I did hear this a lot when I was doing my research. But it is random that such a high cost of living city, which is the financial capital of the world, has lower wages compared to good old Melbourne.
But, I know for higher skilled roles, or IT contract roles the rates can be insanely high!
I am not overly fussed though, as I always knew we would have made more money staying at home.
I have also been getting to a few football games at Craven Cottage to see the mighty Fulham play #COYW.
Got the win against Nottingham Forest!

In the AFL back home they always let all the supporters mix together, which is nice as it creates a good friendly atmosphere.
But in the football they segregate the fans completely, which creates a really electric atmosphere at the games.
A lot of the stadiums are also pretty small so sell out very quickly, but its pretty doable to get a ticket to a team like Fulham.
Excited to see what next month brings!
