March Update

-Weather warming up in London
-Went to Edinburgh with friends
-A few more job interviews, close but no cigar

March has been a great month so far. The weather has been so lovely in London, with blue skies and sunny days. The parks are absolutely beautiful to have a picnic in, or sit around and play some cards. I still have not landed a job but damn the break has been an incredible mental reset.

Back home my mind got a bit clouded with badly structured WFH set up, long pointless meetings where I was not contributing and a general lack of motivation.

But since moving to London I have got myself into a really good routine.

I get up have breakfast, go to my local cafe, read the paper and head to the gym. The gym is really local so only a 15 minute walk, it has a basketball court so I shoot a few hoops before sliding into my work out. It has a really good community feel and everyone there is really nice.

Once that is done I head home for a bit and go to the library. I smash out a few job applications, but also try to not get to bogged down in applications. I’ll smash out some life admin and plan some hikes / trips with Miss Aussie Strategy.

After that I try to switch off from work applications, and enjoy my evening.

Miss Aussie Strategy has been working though, and just got a 3 month contract. Get that bread!!!

I have found it tough getting rejected from job interviews, but am slowly getting better and not getting too high or too low about job related stuff. Because I know once I get a job I will start finding aspects of it grim having to do it each day lol.

We have been watching White Lotus as a share house which has been really nice. Such an interesting show, I feel like season 3 has been slightly worse compared to the previous seasons. But they do build it up so nicely for a hectic season ending each time!

I have also been really giving some thought about what sort of job I would be motivated to do each day. I have started coming to terms with the fact that most jobs involve putting up with various levels of shit.

As I have a pretty obsessive mind I have to be careful I don’t just jump down a rabbit hole that is not a long term interest lol.

One interest that has been pretty consistent for a while is a job in sport. I am not a sports nuffy by any chance, but I do really enjoy the fact that sports has a certain intensity to it. Your not rocking up week after week to do the same thing.

There is a game most weeks, rumours about players, special moments and brutal seasons.

Or there is planning going into a big event like the Australian Open or the F1.

I am sure it has its tough parts, but it is an area I am interested in. I am going to see how this develops as I want to see if my interest wains or stays.

We also got to the Fulham vs Crystal Palace game in the FA cup final 8. I have started going for Fulham and this was a huge game for them! The atmosphere was electric and so much fun to be a part of. That is until we lost 3-0. The Crystal Palace fans were going mental.

We also headed up to Scotland with two good friends from Australia. We caught the train up there which was a pretty awesome experience.

From Aus if you want to get anywhere you are flying. There is something magical in the UK about jumping on a train in London as it whisks you along the coast past castles, the ocean and into the beautiful and historic Edinburgh!

The castle in Edinburgh is also so cool, and the battles with the English that happened. I really want to watch that movie “Mary Queen of the Scots”, photos below:
