You Want to Live Where?

Miss Aussie Strategy and I have had a dream for a few years now of going and working overseas.

We are in our mid twenties now and it seems like the perfect time to do it before the triple M hits us right in the noggin (Midgets, Mortgage and Marriage).

Our first debacle was which country we should set ourselves up in.

We were pretty confident London would be the go, it has a lot going for it; gateway to Europe, awesome live events, great culture and lots of EPL football teams ;).

We knew it would be expensive but as we did more research we realized just how pricey London really is.

Neither of us pull in an insane amount of bacon with our current gigs either, so the lucrative London contract gigs are not available to us.

However, we still want to go to the UK. The YMV (Youth Mobility Visa) is so easy to apply for and Miss Aussie Strategy has a UK passport.

We did a fair bit of research, and our current plan is…

Drum roll please!

To move to Bristol in early 2025!

Bristol seemed like a good combination of English Charm, affordable rentals and big enough for us to both get jobs.

We are both a little bit nervous about doing this, as it is a big move to pack up our lives and move overseas.

However, I know we will both really regret not doing it.

We would like to work there for about a year and after that do 6 months of traveling through Europe.

My main aim for this is to do some multi-week cycling tours through some European cities.

I have always loved cycle touring and I think it would be an absolute blast along with a great way of seeing different cities and cultures!

Financially it will also set us back a fair bit, as we will not be able to save as much money in the UK.

I am pretty content with that though, I feel like there are certain times in your life that are perfect to do some overseas adventuring.

I can’t imagine either of us will want to do this in our thirties when we are a little bit older and more settled.

Super excited about this plan though!

Adventure awaits!
